"False Creek": Community Connected by WaterBrand identity for a three-year research initiative investigating the biodiversity of False Creek, Vancouver — where science, art, and community meet.
"False Creek": Community Connected by Water brings together artists, scientists, and educators to reshape public perception of one of Vancouver's most iconic urban waterways. The identity needed to feel both scientifically credible and publicly approachable — a visual language that could speak to researchers and communities alike.
The mark is built from water and life. A fluid blue wave leads into a circle, met by a coral segment that closes it — together representing the waterway and the care surrounding it. At the center, two pieces of eelgrass swirl gently, nodding to the aquatic organisms at the heart of the research. The palette extends this language: shades of green for biodiversity and science, blue for water, and coral for life & human connection.
